About
Welcome! I’m Dr. Johnna Belkiewitz, OTD, MAT, OTR.
I’m an occupational therapist, former educator, and the founder of OT TranslatED.
I’ve been working in public education for 9 years. That experience continues to shape how I approach my work, bridging development, learning and real-life application across home, school and community settings.
Today, I am a clinician, educator, and researcher with years of experience running my own occupational therapy practice. My work focuses on helping individuals and families build skills, routines, and supports that make everyday life more manageable, meaningful, and aligned with what matters most.
I specialize in trauma-informed and gender-affirming occupational therapy, with experience across:
school-based and community-based practice
early intervention
adolescent and family support
mental health and substance use recovery
mixed methods research and doctoral-level teaching
I am currently pursuing a PhD in Instructional Leadership, with a focus on how education and occupational therapy intersect to support real-world participation and access.
My Approach
I believe occupational therapy should be accessible to everyone.
OT TranslatED was created to help caregivers, educators, students, and clinicians better understand development and strategies for applying that understanding in everyday life.
Whether through clinical services, coaching, education or speaking, my goal is to translate occupational therapy into tools and strategies that YOU can actually use.
